Activision has confirmed its Call of Duty Cold War update timelines for this week and how they will fit in with the larger launch of Warzone Season 4.

So fans should know that there will be two dates this week to track to have a full idea of the Cold War and Warzone Season 4 launch.

For those following this week’s release, the upcoming Cold War update will be between 14GB and 21GB.

Meanwhile, the Call of Duty Warzone Season 4 update will be available for download if you have between 8GB and 12GB depending on your platform of choice.

Commenting on this week’s big season 4 release, a post from Activision explains: “Incoming free content: The latest round-based Zombies experience, as well as a classic Multiplayer map and new modes, are coming ashore in Black Ops Cold War, while Warzone a brand new objective mode with Payload and other meta-changing updates.

“As satellites around the world are being brought down due to Perseus’ actions, another war is just beginning in the Zombies Dark Aether story.

“After being released from Omega Group’s clutches in Firebase Z, Samantha helped Maxis Requiem investigate the world’s largest outbreak zone to date in the Ural Mountains.

After thwarting Omega’s plans for “Operatsiya Inversiya,” Requiem’s elite strike team was poised to extract the group’s defecting scientists in Operation Excision… until a known enemy discovered their plan and installed a mole among them. “

According to publisher Activision, this week’s Call of Duty Cold War update is scheduled for Wednesday, July 14 at 5 a.m. BST.

And for gamers in North America, the same Black Ops patch will be available for download on July 13 at 9:00 PM PDT.

For this update, there is a download size of approximately 11.4-21.3 GB for those who own the full version of Black Ops Cold War, and 8.9-10.4 GB for those who own the free-to-play Warzone and current are on the latest updates on one or both games.

A statement from Activision adds: “PC users will also need an additional 12.4-12.9 GB of space on their hard drive for the patch copying process; this is only temporary space reclaimed upon completion of the patch installation and is not an additional download.

“Remember, the Warzone download isn’t necessary if you’re just playing Black Ops Cold War, and vice versa. In addition, for a smaller overall file size, players can choose to uninstall/remove other data packs if they are no longer needed.”

For those interested in what’s to come, here’s a rundown of what’s planned:

Following the events of “Operation Excision” in Outbreak, “Mauer Der Toten” is Treyarch’s next classic round-based Zombies experience in which Requiem agents, currently working for Colonel Kravchenko of the Omega Group in an effort to maintain their freedom, will explore war-torn Berlin after a zombie invasion overtakes the city.

Cops navigate the dark streets, lit only by floodlights, street lamps and long-abandoned vehicles, to reach several key landmarks and structures, including a U-Bahn where flaming trains transport undead passengers to unknown parts.

However, they won’t be alone if they can find a way to activate a new robotic companion, Klaus, who will help them defeat the undead.

Capture the Flag (CTF), an objective mode whose roots stem from the first-ever Call of Duty Multiplayer experience, is a competitive mode in which squads must take the enemy’s flag and return it to their home base, while also capturing those of have to defend them against the enemy team.

A flag will not be captured unless a team’s own flag is safe in their base, so squads must have both good offense and good defense to win the match. Also, a short respawn timer prevents a side from throwing itself recklessly at the enemy base, making every life count in this fast-paced tactical brawl for supremacy.

Later in the season, Treyarch expands the paintball experience from Rush to the wider world of Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer in the new Paintball Moshpit. This new way to play MP introduces visual paintball effects and impact sounds to the action through a selection of maps and modes. Get ready to get messy.
