Popular Japanese discount store Don Quijote (aka “Donki”) is a wave of limited-edition sales The typical quintuplets merchandise. In a promotion that kicked off on July 10, 2021, dozens of Donki branches across Japan will stock special items featuring the series’ five sisters wearing special black outfits.
The items vary from special acrylic uprights and accessories to large tapestries in B2 format. In addition to T-shirts with the designs, stationary style items and metal buttons are also sold. Each of the sisters in The typical quintuplets, Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki will have custom items. Some items with the girls as a group are also available.
Based on the manga of the same name, The typical quintuplets is based on the manga by Negi Haruba (called Gotoubun no Hanayome in Japanese). It stars high school student Futaro Uesugi, who is hired to tutor the Nakano sisters, quintuplets who are all doing terrible at school. Told in retrospect, the story reveals that Futaro got involved with and married one of the sisters. The rest of the story hints and eventually reveals gravy that Nakano sister Futaro ended up with. The manga was adapted into a 2019 anime series, with a second season, The typical quintuplets aired in January 2021. Instead of a third season of Typical quintuplets, the sequel to the second season will be delivered as a feature film in 2022.
The typical quintuplets is available worldwide on streaming services. a game adaptation, The quintessential quintuplets ∬: Summer memories come in fives! was released for the PS4 and Switch in March 2021 in Japan. No international release plans for the game have been announced.
