HBO’s Series Adaptation of the Popular Video Game Naughty Dog The last of us added three more actors to the cast. Per Deadline, the series will now star in Jeffrey Pierce (Bosch), Murray Bartlett (The white lotus) and Con O’Neill (Chernobyl). The series is coming out Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog’s Vice President and The last of us creative director Neil Druckmann.
Pierce gets the recurring role as Perry, a rebel in a quarantine zone. This actually marks a return for Pierce to The last of us franchise as he voiced Tommy, Joel’s younger brother, in both The last of us and the sequel The Last of Us Part II.
Bartlett plays Frank and O’Neill as Bill, two post-pandemic survivors living alone in their own isolated city.
The trio joins Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) in the series where they will play Joel and Ellie respectively with Gabriel Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) to play Joel’s brother, Tommy. Merle Dandridge returns in her video game role as Marlene and Nico Parker (The third day) is set to portray Joel’s daughter, Sarah.
The last of us Set 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed, it centers on the relationship between Joel, a smuggler in this new world, and Ellie, a teenager who may hold the key to a cure for a deadly pandemic. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle the 14-year-old girl out of a cramped quarantine zone. What starts as a small job quickly turns into a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they crisscross the US, depending on each other for their survival.”
