A Zelda and Loftwing amiibo would launch side by side The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch. However, some circumstances mean that this will not be the case. Some figures are known. But Nintendo also noted that the majority of Zelda and Loftwing amiibo have been delayed and won’t be released until August 2021. [Thanks, IGN!]
Here is the official statement that Nintendo has offered to IGN. It did not explain what caused the delayed shipment of Zelda and Loftwing amiibo. It also didn’t provide an exact date for when the extra digits will be sent. However, there will be more to come.
The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo figure is currently affected by unforeseen shipping delays. As a result, only a small portion of the Zelda & Loftwing will be available on its scheduled July 16 launch date. Additional shipments are postponed until August. We’ll send additional amiibo to retailers as soon as they arrive.
This means that a rather important function is missing in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword at launch. If someone has the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo, you can use it at any point in the game to speed travel. Tapping it will take you from Surface to Skyloft and vice versa. It even works in a dungeon.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is available for the Nintendo Switch. While some numbers have made it, most Zelda and Loftwing amiibo shipments have been delayed until August 2021.
