Although writer and director James Gunn has stated that Guardians of the Universe Vol.3 will be his last installment in the Marvel franchise and Drax actor Dave Bautista has suggested he will be leaving the role after the next film, it seems that Nebula actor Karen Gillan isn’t ready to move on anytime soon.
“I love my character so much. I’m a bit obsessed with her,” Gillan said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I just get such a kick out of playing a character that’s really removed from myself. But I also feel really emotionally invested in her because of everything she’s been through with Thanos and all that. So I’d love to share the journey of continue the character. I don’t know what that would look like without James or Dave, but I really enjoy playing her, so I’m not eager to finish it.”
So far Gillan Nebula has played in both Guardians of the Universe movies too Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and will currently reprise her role in the fourth episode of the Thor franchise, Thor: Love and Thunder, alongside Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista and Sean Gunn — slated for release on May 6, 2022.
