With the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe stretching across both television and movies, Marvel previously announced that the next chapter of Don Cheadle’s War Machine would take place in a spin-off series titled armor wars.
In an interview with Collider to promote Space Jam: A New Legacy, Cheadle offered an update on the upcoming Marvel series by clarifying that the project is still in “super early” development.
“All I know is that in a few weeks we’re going into the room and trying to cut through the backbone of the story and figure out who, what, when and where for everything. It’s super early in the development stage, so I couldn’t even spoil it if I wanted to. I don’t know what’s happening.”

Although very little is known about armor wars in terms of plot and casting, Cheadle has previously noted that “Tony Stark’s death would play a big part in the series”. Cheadle also made a brief cameo appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – which earned him an Emmy nomination for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
