Game company Ubisoft has shared a development update regarding the upcoming video game sequel Beyond Good and Evil 2.
The game company shared the news as part of its report on its Q1 FY22 finances. They revealed that the highly anticipated sequel is still in development, but it’s “too early” to say when it will be released, even a launch window.
The development plan for the revival of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is one of Ubisoft’s biggest goals, along with other triple A titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with the upcoming second year of content. The problem is, they haven’t said anything about it for years, three years to be exact since its unveiling.
CFO Frederick Duguet gave a statement to the media outlet PC gamer regarding a release window:
We’re making good progress with Beyond Good and Evil 2, but it’s too early to tell you more at this stage.
In other words, Ubisoft is really digging hard into Beyond Good and Evil 2 development and they could be taking this seriously. They are willing to wait more time to let this go perfectly. However, this has been in development since 2012 and went into pre-production around 2016. So it’s understandable that fans are pretty excited right now.
However, we must not forget that the creator of the game, Michel Ancel, has left Ubisoft, but the development is still ongoing. This may also play a part in the developers’ dead silence.
