The Fear Street trilogy has been a chart-topping affair at Netflix, and many subscribers eager for more are wondering if Fear Street Part 4 will be available to stream by the end of the year.
The terrifying Netflix trilogy is based off of the book series Fear Street written by renowned horror scribe R.L. Stine. Most people probably remember him from his work on the extremely popular Goosebumps series, which were also adapted for TV and film.
Each iteration has received critical acclaim with solid scores on Rotten Tomatoes, and each has been a hit with subscribers. Fear Street Part 1: 1994, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, and Fear Street Part 3: 1666 all spent time in the Top 10 in both the movie and overall rankings for the popular streaming service.
The Fear Street flicks featured an impressive cast consisting of talented players such as Maya Hawke, Gillian Jacobs, Sadie Sink, Kiana Madeira, Ashley Zuckerman, Jordana Spiro, Benjamin Flores Jr., and Fred Hechinger. The entire trilogy was directed by Leigh Janiak, who is known for her work directing the 2014 horror flick Honeymoon.
Will Fear Street Part 4 be on Netflix in 2021?
Unfortunately, there are no official plans to expand the Fear Street saga beyond the well-received trilogy. Therefore, fans hoping for Fear Street Part 4 will have to remain patient because, as of now, there are no plans to make any more entries.
While this is really saddening news in regards to the future of the fear-inducing franchise, it is important to know that there are people involved that have expressed interest in making a Fear Street Part 4. Several cast members and director Leigh Janiak have stated that they would be up for making more nightmare-causing titles in the hair-raising series of horror films.
Janiak specifically mentioned adapting a slasher movie set in the 1950s. She also stated that she would like a Fear Street Part 4, or whatever the title ends up being, for another potential entry to revolve around The Milkman, also known as Harry Rooker.
Fear Street Part 4 arriving before 2021 ends seems very unlikely. Even if they greenlit it at some point in the near future, it does not seem plausible that it could arrive on Netflix anytime before 2022 at the earliest, if it is ever to occur.
