PSN down reports are pouring in today, with thousands of gamers experiencing issues with the PlayStation Network. Independent Failure Monitor Down Detector has registered a massive spike in PSN down reports. At the time of writing, Down Detector UK has recorded a peak of over 12,000 reports of PSN down.
While downdetector.com has registered a spike of over 26,000 PlayStation Network down notifications.
According to Down Detector statistics, the main issues facing PSN users are login issues.
At the time of writing, the official PSN status page says that the PlayStation Network is still active.
Down Detector has also logged thousands of Steam down reports, while there are also reported problems with popular online banking services such as HSBC, Lloyds and Barclays.
The outage monitor has also logged hundreds of Call of Duty reports.
When the PSN hit issues, PlayStation gamers took to Twitter to report issues with the PS4 and PS5 online gaming service.
Someone tweeted, “Of course PSN isn’t available, right when I have new games to get excited about.”
While another posted: “PSN is down Tired face just wanted one last Total Mayhem fix before going away for a week”.
One added: “PSN servers down, @AskPlayStation what’s going on?”
And another wrote: “So I wake up to play gta v because I’m enjoying the new update and…..Psn is down………….”.
The official Ask PlayStation support Twitter account has yet to release a statement confirming whether the issues reported by PSN users are a widespread problem.
But the PlayStation social account is busy tweeting to gamers experiencing issues.
Commenting on one of the @AskPlayStation Twitter users, he wrote: “Sorry to hear you’re having trouble accessing your account.
“To better assist you, more information is required from your account and for security reasons we cannot ask you to share details on Twitter.
