Excitement for GTA 6 is feverish, despite not a single confirmed detail emerging about Rockstar Games’ next big title. It’s been nearly eight years since GTA 5 first launched, and we haven’t heard from Rockstar Games about what to expect from the next main title in the Grand Theft Auto series. Numerous alleged leaks and rumors have surfaced, with the latest leak saying the GTA 6 release date could be as far away as 2025.

That’s according to Tom Henderson, a leaker who has an enviable track record when it comes to COD and Battlefield leaks.

Henderson recently caused a lot of discussion in the GTA community when he revealed information he had heard behind the scenes about GTA 6.

The leaker revealed a lot of potential information about GTA 6, saying that it will only be for next-gen consoles, could have a release date between 2023 and 2025, and that the next GTA game will be set in a modern version of Vice City.

That’s enough amazing information for GTA fans to keep going.

But one of the most interesting details Henderson revealed is that the next GTA game could have an evolving map like Fortnite.

This allows new areas and content to be added to GTA 6 over time, which is a fascinating prospect.

Given the huge success of GTA Online, which continues to bring in money from the truckloads, a live service model for the next GTA game makes a lot of sense.

And in a new opinion piece, published by DualShockersHenderson has argued that this model could mean GTA 6 will be the last ever game in the GTA series.

In the article, Henderson wrote, “Rockstar looks set to make GTA 6 the most epic future-proof video game in history, with constant updates that not only bring new content to fans, but also keep the world fresh and interesting as it evolves.

“GTA 5 and GTA Online are still huge success stories, with the fifth installment still getting several million premium sales a month, and to be honest, it feels like Rockstar can ride the GTA Online bandwagon for another decade if they choose to do this.”

Henderson said he “really” believes GTA 6 could be the “last in the franchise”.

This is of course speculation. But the evidence seems to support Henderson’s theory.

GTA Online first launched in 2013, not long after GTA 5 first debuted on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

And, nearly eight years later, GTA Online is still supported and brings in tons of money for Rockstar Games.

The last GTA update was the Los Santos Tuners DLC, which was released earlier this week.

And if GTA 6 finally launches in 2025, GTA Online would eventually be supported by Rockstar for more than a decade.

It’s hard to imagine that when Rockstar Games first launched GTA Online in 2013, they planned on having to support the mode for so long.

But here we are, and GTA 5 has gradually become the most successful entertainment product of all time.

Whatever follows GTA Online is likely to be another cash cow and slam dunk success, especially given the massive hype GTA 6 is already generating.

GTA Online has organically become a game that has stood the test of time, evolving into an online sensation that is regularly updated with DLC and seasonal events.

It would make sense that the next Grand Theft Auto would be made with all the lessons Rockstar Games learned from making GTA Online a huge success, with flexibility and longevity at the heart of the design philosophy.

Henderson leaked the information he learned about GTA 6 in a video published last month. In the YouTube video, which is embedded in this article, Henderson said the information he provided should be taken with a grain of salt.
