Today’s Halo Infinite Flight gives those who signed up for the Insider program the chance to experience the new Master Chief game this week.

Scheduled to launch on July 29, those selected will be able to download and enjoy the game’s upcoming multiplayer mode, which is still under development.

Microsoft and developers 343 Industries are seeking lots of feedback on the current build and have also warned that only a group of players will be selected.

So even if you go to the Halo Insider site and sign up now, chances are you won’t be able to play.

But while that will be disappointing for longtime Halo fans, there is some good news. Microsoft has also confirmed that more of these Halo Infinite beta tests are planned.

So it’s still worth signing up for a chance to take part in the Halo promotion later in 2021.

A message from 343 Industries explains: “The first-ever tech preview of Halo Infinite is just around the corner. It’s a moment we’ve been building towards for quite some time – and we’re delighted that so many of you are excited to dive in and see what we’ve been working hard on.

Keeping in mind that the upcoming technical preview is really a work-in-progress test, we want to make sure you have all the information to hand so you know when and what you’re playing, where to give feedback and everything in between.

“And as a reminder, while our plan is to get as many people as possible to the technical preview, not every Halo Insider will receive an invite.

“If you don’t get in this time, don’t despair! We have yet to scale up these tests in time on the road to launch, so your opportunities are far from over.”

Access to Halo Infinite Preview is not guaranteed, but the sooner you sign up, the more likely you will not miss an opportunity in the future.

To increase your chances of being selected, ensure that your Halo Insider settings are complete and accurate – you must be opted in to communications, verify your email address and select the desired platform(s).

And if you choose PC, 343 warns that you must upload a DXDIAG file to be eligible.

For those who miss this week or next month, there’s plenty of Halo Infinite action to watch online.

Lots of streamers are getting access, which means there will be plenty of official footage worth checking out over the coming weeks and months.

The official Halo beta game times for this week include the following dates:

  • Thursday, July 29: Tech preview is officially live.
  • Friday, July 30 Scheduled Game Times: 12pm – 2pm PT, 7pm – 9pm PT

  • Sunday, August 1 Scheduled Game Times: 12pm – 2pm PT, 7pm – 9pm PT
