Reports on the Spider-Man No Way Home cast list suggest the arrival of a number of prominent actors, including Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. One of the most interesting rumors is about Cox, who played Matt Murdock/Daredevil on the Netflix Marvel TV show. The series enjoyed three thrilling series before being canceled, ending the star’s run as the blind superhero. The latest news about the 38-year-old star continues to point to his involvement in the third Spider-Man Marvel movie.

Cox was set to appear at the Celebrity Fan Fest convention in San Antonio this weekend, August 6.

Unfortunately for convention attendees, Cox has withdrawn from the event due to “schedule changes.”

Celebrity Fan Fest’s official Twitter account wrote: “THE SAD NEWS: Unfortunately, due to last minute changes to the schedule, Charlie Cox will no longer be with us for #CelebrityFanFest.

“But don’t worry, if you’ve sent an item to SWAU for signature or still want it, he’s kindly agreed to make sure everything is signed.”

While this is a sad turn of events for those in attendance, it does beg the question: What is Cox filming?

According to the star’s Wikipedia page, Kin is the only upcoming show that has “finished filming” and is in post-production.

If he’s not filming for that show, he could definitely film some for No Way Home.

The third Spider-Man movie is currently being shot in Atlanta, so his presence is not ruled out.

The theory states that Cox would reprise his role as Murdock to help Peter Parker (Tom Holland) out of a tricky legal situation in No Way Home.

This scenario would no doubt have started after the final moments of Spider-Man: Far From Home, when Peter’s secret identity was revealed on national television.

To make things even more compelling, Kevin Feige was recently asked if the MCU would be shooting elements of the Netflix Marvel series.

He replied, “I look at everything that’s happened before, whether it’s our movies, whether it’s Marvel Entertainment TV series, and of course especially the comics, video games, cartoons.”

Feige continued, “It’s all available as inspiration for the future of Marvel. That’s the way the comics have worked for 80 years. So we’ll see.”

Additionally, Cox has previously admitted that he would love to make a comeback as Matt Murdock.

When asked if he could envision a fourth season of Daredevil, the British star said: “I don’t feel that way, no. And I don’t know why I don’t feel that way, but I haven’t been. Given any reason to to believe that.

“And from a cynical point of view, it feels like maybe I’m trying to protect myself because I’d love nothing more than to do it again.”

If Cox made a comeback as Daredevil, fans would no doubt be asking for a new series of the show or a spin-off movie.

This, the star continued, could be difficult because the show’s other actors have already moved on to other projects.

He said, “But when you make a TV show, it’s so complicated, and people’s schedules are so hard and contracts are so hard.”

The Marvel movies are now available on Disney Plus.
