Fortnite update 5:30 PM launches today and Epic Games dropped the usual announcement before shutting down the servers.

This week’s Season 7 patch will be bigger than the July 17.21 update, with the development team keeping its teasers to itself.

Rather than telling gamers what to expect, today’s Fortnite changes are being kept a little more secret.

However, Dataminers have shared that some interesting new weapon features are coming to the game, which will change the way you can use the Grab-Itron item.

The only hint Epic Games shared this week reads: “A ‘UFO in your hands’? In the latest Alien gear, IO Guards scramble to nail down every wall, car, rock and even bush.

This can mean that the Grabber can grab and throw things, as well as spin through a selection of items.

The Grab-Itron will reportedly be available through Supply Drops, Floor, and Chest Loots, as well as The Mothership Legendary Chest.

WHEN DOES FORTNITE DOWNTIME BEGIN FOR UPDATE 17.21?

Fortnite server downtime scheduled for today will begin on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 6:30 AM BST.

For gamers in the United States, this means maintenance will begin the same day at 1:30 AM EDT.

No one should wait for the servers to come back as all platforms will be online at the same time.

And while Epic Games hasn’t given an exact time when servers will be back online, they’ve confirmed how long it could take.

It is estimated that maintenance could take up to four hours, meaning everything should be back online by 11am BST.

More news, including official patch notes, is expected to be shared during today’s Fortnite maintenance.

But before that happens, Epic Games has confirmed that the next big event will take place after update 5:30 PM goes live today.

From August 6-8, gamers can take a musical journey into magical new realities where Fortnite and Ariana Grande collide.

A message from Epic Games reads: “To ensure fans around the world can experience the Rift Tour, the experience spans five showtimes over three days.

“We recommend that fans arrive in Fortnite 60 minutes before the show starts, and the Rift Tour playlist must be live 30 minutes before each show. Before Ariana arrives, the Rift Tour will begin with Fortnite-themed experiences – mixing popular tracks with moments based on elements from the game.

“The Rift Tour is better when you travel side by side with your friends! Visit RiftTour.com for more details on the Rift Tour schedule, or use the Rift Tour in-game tab.

“The Rift Tour tab allows you and your friends to schedule the showtimes you plan to attend, and keep up to date with the latest Rift Tour Quests.”

There are also reports that the new musical event will be followed by another event in August, with a new Suicide Squad tie-in coming up in the coming weeks.
