Fans of the Netflix original series Bridgerton will be happy to hear that the Bridgerton season 2 has officially resumed filming.
In July, the production was shut down due to two COVID-19 exposures and/or positive cases on set. Variety reported that showrunner Chris Van Dusen has confirmed that they are back at it.
Bridgerton was among several other projects shooting in the UK that had to postpone filming due to the virus. Thankfully, those exposed were isolated immediately, and now things are moving forward once again. Van Dusen told Variety that he is editing the first episodes and things are looking great!
This is amazing news for the Bridgerton fans who are so excited to see how the second book will be played out in the series.
Bridgerton season 2 release date predictions
Production for Bridgerton season 2 was originally supposed to start during the summer of 2020. This means there will be quite a gap between seasons. And, with the current setback, it will be even longer of a wait. Most likely, it will be spring of 2022 before we get to see the second season.
Fans of Julia Quinn’s novels know that the second book tells the story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his quest to find love. The series will also follow this storyline, and if it is anything like the first season, fans are in for a treat. It has been announced that the leading lady for this season will be Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), who is new to Regency London and has an independent streak that never impresses the old guard of the ton.
Of course, we will continue to see the other siblings and neighbors who add all their color and life to the story. The series has been renewed for seasons 3 and 4, and if they follow the timeline of the books, season 3 will be about Benedict, with season 4 focusing on Colin.
We are glad to share this happy news with Bridgerton fans. Keep checking Netflix Life for more news and updates on the Bridgerton season 2 release date.
