In other PS5 news, Sony released a PS5 beta update last week that added the long-awaited support for PlayStation 5 owners to expand their console’s internal storage.

In addition to this long-awaited new feature, Sony also revealed extensive requirements that PS5 fans should pay attention to when buying an SSD to install in their console.

It can be a bit overwhelming – if you’ve been a console gamer all your life – to go through Sony’s advice on which SSDs work best with the PS5.

Fortunately, PlayStation architect Mark Cerny has lent a helping hand by pointing to an SSD that works on the PS5.

The SSD Cerny highlighted is the WD_Black SN850 NVMe SSD game drive and heat sink.

Cerny tweeted a photo of this SSD, saying, “Our solution for our highly active two-player PS5 household? His and her SSDs 🙂

“A couple of great options at 7000 MB/s finally put my $$ on this one. It’s going to be AMAZING!!!”
