Season 5 is coming to Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone this week, with Activision confirming the full roadmap today.

From what has happened in the past, the development teams of both games will be launching patches, the first to come to the Cold War.

This is expected to take place on August 11, a full day before Call of Duty Season 5 kicks off on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The first download is expected at 7am BST and will be followed by another update for Warzone.

The Warzone Season 5 update will be released on August 12 and heralds the start of the new season on all platforms.

This is also expected to be an early drop, probably around 7am BST again for UK gamers.

This remains a prediction for now, with Activision expected to drop its full update plans and Season 5 roadmap today, August 9.

We already know that a lot of new content is coming to Call of Duty titles this week, including new weapons, modes and maps.

As always, there will be new content for gamers to play in both Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone.

And while the new maps and modes will be split between the two games, the weapons planned for Season 5 will be available in both.

This means you can take them to the next level and unlock new attachments and skins when you use them in Cold War multiplayer, Zombies or in Warzone Battle Royale.

Four new weapons have been confirmed to be added to the Warzone and Black Ops arsenal, some of which will be available on day one.

However, being tied to the Battle Pass progression, many will have to wait until they reach the appropriate level.

The two weapons available on August 12 include the EM2 Assault Rifle and the TEC-9 SMG, with Activision also confirming a melee addition.

EM2: Assault Rifle – Fully automatic assault rifle. Well rounded British rifle with good fire control. Built-in low-zoom optics improves accuracy. Lower rate of fire with reliable range.

Get the EM2 for free and ready to use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone at level 15 of the Season Five Battle Pass.

TEC-9: SMG – A semi-automatic submachine gun. Improved accuracy over longer ranges with low recoil and a slower rate of fire. Good damage output with moderate range.

Get the TEC-9 for free and ready to use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone on Tier 31 of the Season Five Battle Pass.

Stick: melee weapon – The Cane is a clubbing tool that is both stylish and deadly. Sort your enemies with a quick swing of this new melee weapon, which can knock them unconscious after a crack on the head.

And later in Season 5, games can expect a new gun to be unlocked via an in-game challenge:

Marshal: Secondary Pistol – Hand-loaded double-barreled pistol fires 12-gauge shells. Excellent close-range damage with a 1-shot kill potential.

The Marshal, the predecessor to a similarly devastating pistol in Call of Duty®: Black Ops III, is the most powerful loadout pistol in Black Ops Cold War, capable of clearing rooms with ease despite limited attachments. Available later in the season.

Obtain the Cane and Marshal in two ways during season five: complete an in-game challenge to get the free base weapon, or grab a bundle containing a unique Blueprint version when it appears in the Store.
