Gearbox and 2K announced a long line of celebrations coming to Borderlands 3 for its second anniversary. In fact, the looting of the universe has already begun and rewards players with a lot of legendary loot.

Every week during Loot the universe, another Borderland 3 planet becomes a bastion of better drops, with specific types of legendary loot having a higher chance of falling into one of that planet’s zones. You get to keep any bonus Legendary loot you find during these mini-events, and it’s up to the community to discover what kind of Legendary loot falls where, so mark your calendars:

  • Week 1 (9:00 a.m. PT Aug. 12 to 8:59 a.m. PT Aug. 19) – Pandora;
  • Week 2 (9:00 a.m. PT Aug. 19 to 8:59 a.m. PT Aug. 26) – Promethea;
  • Week 3 (9:00 a.m. PT Aug. 26 to 8:59 a.m. PT Sept 2) – Eden-6;
  • Week 4 (9:00 a.m. PT Sept. 2 to 8:59 a.m. PT Sept. 9) – Nekrotafeyo.

The fun doesn’t stop after your galactic tour! Starting Sept. 9 at 9:00 a.m. PT, two more mini-events will begin simultaneously (and end a week later): Mayhem Made Mild, where you’ll only encounter Easy modifiers in Mayhem Mode; and Show Me the Eridium, which grants more Eridium drops and Eridium item discounts. We’ve got more planned for the big day on September 13, but we don’t want to spoil the surprise just yet. Expect to see more details closer to Borderlands 3’s second anniversary.

Borderlands 3 was rated 7.5 out of 10 by Nate when it came out in September 2019. However, the developers have since released many updates (including a next-generation patch) and six expansions. Additionally, since the end of June, players can group on PC (both Steam and Epic Games Store), Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and Google Stadia. Only PlayStation users were left out, which Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford explained with the following statement:

for certification, we are required by the publisher to remove crossplay support for PlayStation consoles.
