Dyson may be in charge when it comes to cordless vacuums, but it will soon have a new rival to contend with. The latest spring cleaning solution to arrive in the UK comes from the team at ROIDMI that just announced the launch of the flagship RS70.

Like most modern vacuum cleaners, this device allows users to suck up the dirt without having to stick things into the wall, but it also has one advantage that could make it a real competitor to Dyson. The RS70 not only removes dust, but also washes the floors at the same time.

Thanks to an interchangeable water tank and motorized mop head, this vacuum is focused on keeping everything looking completely spotless. ROIDMI says the rotating electric double mop brush uses smart chip technology to control water seepage to keep the mop damp but not wet.

In addition, with a wet wipe speed of 200 rpm, the RS70 is said to be able to remove even dried-on stains and spills.

Other features of this vacuum include 80 minutes of cleaning time on a single charge plus a dynamic OLED display, six-level air-purifying filtration and an internal antibacterial coating designed to kill microbes lurking inside the vacuum.

This machine is also fully connected allowing it to be paired with a smartphone.

Through a dedicated app, this connectivity allows owners to access information about battery capacity and status, cleaning time, remaining capacity of the dust container and the condition of the filter element.

As a bonus, there’s even the option to see how many calories have been burned during the day’s cleaning.

Now, before you get too excited about a vacuum cleaner that’s also a mop, it’s worth noting that it’s not exactly cheap.

The flagship RS70 model costs around £600, which is roughly the same price as Dyson’s new laser-guided V15 Detectct (a full review of that device can be found here).

That’s a lot of money and it might be worth waiting for the usual reviews to pop up before heading to your local electronics store.

The RS70 comes standard with a five-year motor warranty and a two-year battery warranty. It will be available from September through the website roidmi.uk, Harrods, Selfridges, Amazon and independent Euronics retailers.

If you’ve never heard of ROIDMI, you’re not alone as this is a relatively new brand in the UK.

It was founded in China in 2015 and launched its first vacuum in Britain in 2019.

The company now produces a wide range of products, including robotic cleaners that automatically whiz across floors.
