Fortnite update 17.50 is expected this week. The final patch before the Fortnite season 8 release date could launch on Tuesday, August 31. And before the official confirmation of the 17.50 download, fans have found out what the new Fortnite patch could bring.

The biggest rumored feature of the Fortnite 17.50 update is the addition of a new Kevin the Cube event.

For a long time, Fortnite fans will remember that the Cube was an important part of Fortnite Chapter 1, featuring prominently in Seasons 5 and 6.

And rumor has it that Kevin the Cube will return at the end of Fortnite Season 7, and the Cube’s comeback will be tied to the Fortnite Chapter 3 storyline.

This rumor has been circulating for a while and was outlined in an extensive leak that revealed the Ariana Grande event well before it was officially announced.

This leak was previously highlighted by notable leaker ShiinaBR who posted: “RUM: 15 hours ago, a post was published by a moderator on the subreddit r/FortniteLeaks claiming to have inside information about upcoming things in Fortnite.

“The source who provided the insider information apparently leaked A LOT of information about season 6 correctly.”

The leak claimed, among other things, that Kevin will return towards the end of Chapter 2 Season 7 and that the Cube will be controlled by a new unknown Queen character.

This character is reportedly linked to the Fortnite Chapter 3 storyline and it is said that a new map will be launched in this brand new chapter of Fortnite.

Elsewhere, Fortnite 17.50 could see the Coral Castle POI being kidnapped – with the Corny Complex kidnapping reportedly next.

New weapons can also be added with Fortnite 17.50 update, with a charge sniper weapon potentially heading to Battle Royale soon.

The new Fortnite update may also add new skins, with Will Smith and Chris Hemsworth reportedly the focus of the next incoming cosmetics.

Smith’s character Mike Lowrey from the Bad Boys franchise is reportedly heading to Fortnite, as is Hemsworth’s character Tyler Rake from Netflix action movie Extraction.

Elsewhere, the Fortnite Trello board has revealed a new fix that will appear in Fortnite 17.50 update.

The problem is “loss of item functionality after switching from Prop-ifier to Consumable”.

The Fortnite Trello board describes the issue, saying, “Players may not be able to use the items in their inventory (including their pickaxe) after switching from a prop-ifier to a consumable.”

If Fortnite 17:50 update comes out on Tuesday, Battle Royale fans can expect a period of server downtime in advance.

This patch is the last major update prior to the Fortnite season 8 release date.

The new Battle Pass is expected to launch the week of Monday, September 13.
