Gamers struggling to log in and play their favorite games have been hit by a new issue on PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Thousands of reports are coming in tonight that the PSN isn’t working and the core services aren’t working as they should.

Issues began to be shared online by affected gamers around 8pm BST and will continue through August 31.

A user confirmed they were booted from a live game, confirming, “Was anyone else in war zone or the Cold War when this happened? It literally booted me out of a 15-kill rebirth game.”

It appears that most affected players will no longer be able to log into their PSN accounts or play online games tonight.

It’s unclear what caused tonight’s outage or how long the PlayStation Network could be affected by it.

The PSN server status page confirms that all services on all major PlayStation platforms have gone down completely.

A message from the PlayStation support team reads: “You may be experiencing issues launching games, apps or network functions. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

“You may have problems logging in or creating an account for PlayStation Network. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

PlayStation is expected to share more news if tonight’s outage continues on PS4, PS5 and website services.
