The next PS5 replenishment in the UK was expected this week, but recent delivery issues could lead to further delays.

An earlier post from the PS5 Stock UK Twitter account – a reliable tracker account – suggested Amazon UK and John Lewis could be ready to deliver their latest shipment from September 1.

Since then, a new update has been added that suggests delays may occur in September.

The latest message from the trusted account reads: “John Lewis expects to receive a shipment of PlayStation 5 consoles around September 20, indicating a possible replenishment in late September or early October.

“We can see that there is a very clear pattern of shipping issues across the industry at all retailers, which is causing the delays that we see everywhere.

“Nothing specific about the reason, but if/when it’s there, we’ll let you know.”

Previously added: “We expect demand to increase dramatically after September as students return to study and employees return to work (vacationers).”

So while there could be another PS5 share drop in the UK this week, the odds are down.

And this means gamers could wait longer than expected for those thousands of consoles expected in September.

Technically, there’s still time for a PS5 restock to Amazon UK, Smyths, Scan and AO before the end of the week on September 3.

And if something falls, gamers will be warned that it will happen in the morning, between 8am BST and 12am BST.

GAME is another retailer linked to a PS5 addition this month, but more news isn’t expected until around September 9.

Chances are GAME will release more consoles this month, but until we know more, the current date remains a prediction for now.

Demand for next-gen consoles remains very high, with Microsoft and Sony struggling to keep up with global consumers.

The current situation is not expected to improve in 2021 and normal service may take until 2022 to resume.

So far, Sony has confirmed that 10 million units have been sold worldwide, reaching the milestone on July 18.

Knowing when a PS5 replenishment is due can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles their shipments.

And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and not being able to complete purchases when there is a lot of site traffic. Inventory trackers recommend using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer offering the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected in September.

AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK works better under tension, but still has a few kinks worth noting. Creating an account with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wish list before checking out. More stock is expected in early September.
