Bungie has big plans for Destiny 2 in the coming months leading up to The Witch Queen’s 2022 launch, and Xur will be returning every week until then.

The return of the mysterious is one of the few guaranteed things to happen in the smash-hit shooter, while a host of other events are suspended or replaced.

It’s going to be busy for a while, but Guardians can count on Xur’s return later today, Friday, September 3.

Xur will bring new loot to the game, and as Guardians found out last week, it is expected to offer a much wider list of items than during Season 14.

This included both legendary and exotic items, and it’s worth checking them all out later in the day.

Xur is scheduled to return to the map in a random location, with an assortment of gear that he will trade for Legendary Shards.

Last week Xur sold a lot of stuff and Guardians are hoping for the same deal throughout Season 15.

Besides that, there will still be plenty of new items to check out during the season of the lost.

During the last week of August, Xur sold: Tractor Cannon for 29 Legendary Shards, True Prophecy, Escape Velocity, The Last Dance, Main Ingredient, Hollow Words, Seventh Seraph SAW, Bite of the Fox, Knucklehead Radar for 23 Legendary Shards, Forged Machinist helmet, Doom Fang Pauldron for 23 Legendary Shards, Forged Machinist Gloves, Forged Engineer’s Plate, Promethium Spur for 23 Legendary Shards, and Forged Machinist Greaves.

Xur will return to one of his usual haunts at 6pm BST and will be available to visit until September 7.

This is when the weekly reset will begin and will end a number of different activities in Destiny 2.

While Xur will be back in the mix this week, Trials of Osiris won’t be available to enjoy.

One of the longest PvP events is currently on hiatus and won’t return until September 10.

So for now, Xur remains the biggest update to Destiny for this weekend on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

For those of you who forgot, Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to upgrade equipment or trade it for other gear.

It should also be noted that Xur will drop items that are similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that’s new in the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he’s now dropping Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic number, and last week involved completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Each week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that are decoded as Exotics not already in your collection.

Xur is one of the few parts of the game that remains unchanged and offers almost the same services as in the original game.
