Square Enix is eager to continue with the Bravely Default series. However, it is expected that the development will take a few more years and that fans will not hear anything about a new series for a while. Series producer Tomoya Asano spoke to Famitsu this week about the future of the series.

“Bravely Default II has been very well received by fans and we hope to continue the series. Also because we believe we can make it even stronger,” says Asano.

“But we are still in the planning phase and I think it will take three to four years for it to develop. We would be happy if the fans could support us,” explains Tomoya Asano.

Solid sales for the niche JRPG range

Like Square Enix recently announcing the PC version too Bravely Default II distributed, the same game has sold 950,000 copies worldwide to date. The number includes both digital sales and physical deliveries.

To put it in perspective, in July, to coincide with the announcement of Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, Square Enix announced that the series had sold more than three million copies.
