PS Plus September 2021 will be out later today, September 7th
We don’t know what will be included in next month’s list of free PS Plus games, but subscribers have a good guess.
And based on a recent leak, one remastered title was linked to PlayStation Plus in October.
This would be Alan Wake Remastered, with several store listings popping up over the past few weeks, suggesting the game launches on October 5 for PS4 and PS5.
The original Alan Wake launched in 2010 and proved to be a cult hit among fans on Xbox platforms.
And Alan Wake’s description references his thriller roots, revealing: “When bestselling author Alan Wake’s wife disappears while on vacation, his search turns up pages of a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A dark presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity as he struggles to unravel the mystery and save his love.
“With the body of an action game and the spirit of a psychological thriller, Alan Wake is a heart-pounding thrill ride.”
And the big news here linking Alan Wake Remastered to PS Plus October 2021 is the store listing.
Several have reportedly linked Alan Wake to arriving on October 5, 2021, the same day the next PS Plus games will be released.
This is far from concrete information and may well be completely inaccurate by the time Sony announces its plans.
Sony has already launched several games as day one downloads on PlayStation Plus, and this is said to be a new addition to the subscription service.
And while there’s a good chance that this rumor could turn out to be untrue in the future, fans are happy to discuss it for now.
A gamer on Reddit commented: “At first I thought no way, but the more I think about it, the more plausible it becomes. Remedy wants the “Remedy Connected Universe” to take off, so they want both Epic and Sony to take off. push this game hard and get it in as many hands as possible.
Another added: “Yeah, it’s a $30 game so it’s not that crazy to see it on the first day of PS Plus, I think it will be similar to last year’s Mafia II remaster (which also cost $30). And like you said, they want to make a universe, so it would be good to attract players with a decent remaster.
“Maybe it will come to game pass later too, and in 2-3 years when the next Control or similar game brings it on EGS. The point of this remaster is to attract new players to the RCU, but not spend much of money on production.”
Others aren’t sure, with one gamer pointing out: “You know, Bus Simulator 21 came out on September 7, and also on the same date as PS Plus games, but it didn’t.
“So please sit down and relax, clear up your backlogs or play this month’s games and wait for them to officially announce next month’s games.
“Don’t give up hope, because you could be even more disappointed by all those rumors, just like last year with the remastered Dark Souls and Dying Light.”
