Call of Duty Vanguard Beta Begins September 10
Call of Duty Vanguard publisher Activision is hosting the first of two multiplayer beta tests this weekend.
The first Call of Duty Vanguard beta will take place on September 10 at 6:00 PM CET.
Unfortunately, however, there are one or two limitations that fans should be aware of.
For starters, this is a PlayStation beta only, meaning Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC fans will have to wait a little longer to get stuck in the action.
Second, this weekend’s Call of Duty Vanguard beta is only available to pre-order customers.
To receive a code to participate in the beta, you must pre-order the game online or in-store.
Call of Duty Vanguard costs £69.99 on PSN, although you can get the PS4 version for less by buying a boxed copy from the store.
On the plus side, the Call of Duty Vanguard beta doesn’t require a PlayStation Plus subscription to access, so that should save you some cash.
If you haven’t pre-ordered the game yet, there are a number of options available to you.
With the beta happening this weekend, it’s worth following some of the bigger Call of Duty streamers for code giveaways.
Likewise, Activision may give away codes on Twitter, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on social media.
The only other option is to wait until the Call of Duty Vanguard open beta next weekend.
The Call of Duty Vanguard Open Beta will start on September 16 and will be available on all platforms, including without pre-order.
In terms of content, the Vanguard beta gives fans a comprehensive look at the newly introduced Champions Hill game mode.
Champion Hill made his debut at the recent Alpha test. It is described as a multi-arena survival tournament, “where tactics and strategy are combined with fast-paced action, close-quarter gunplay”.
The Vanguard beta also includes classic game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed.
Elsewhere, fans can check out the brand new Patrol multiplayer mode, featuring moving targets across three different maps.
Reach level 20 during the multiplayer Vanguard beta and you’ll receive a bonus Weapon Blueprint for the full game in November.
