Nintendo introduces new LEGO set for the 25th anniversary of Super Mario 64

Recent articles

Following a small teaser from the LEGO Group this week, Nintendo has now unveiled the latest LEGO set for Super Mario. Like the set for the Nintendo Entertainment System, it stands on its own.

It’s a big question mark block equipped with a sophisticated mechanism that turns the inside inside out in no time at all: different level scenes from the classic Super Mario 64.

25 years after the video game “Super Mario 64” was released, this set contains a block of LEGO bricks. The opening model reveals instantly recognizable game levels: Mushroom Palace, Bob-ombs Bomb Mountain, Bibber Mountain Bob and Lava Lagoon. In the detailed backgrounds can be placed 10 microfigures of the legendary characters.

For an “interactive gaming experience” you can also combine it with the Super Mario characters. With LEGO-Mario or LEGO-Luigi from the starter sets you can also collect 10 hidden power stars in the question mark block.

The set will be released in this country from October 1 and is (initially exclusive) in LEGO Store*. Incidentally, with 169.99 euros, it remains well below the NES set. Fittingly, it offers 2.064 Components.
