PS5 UK Stock News for September 8
Smyths is the latest UK retailer to offer PS5 consoles this month, following a previous stock from Studio on September 7.
According to the latest news from tracker account PS5 Stock UK on Twitter, Smyths stores are currently restocking on next-gen consoles.
The message from the trusted store source reads: “We hear from members at our Discord that some have called Smyths Toys by phone and everyone is getting different answers, some employees say it’s in store now and later online, some say it’s only in the shop so it’s worth a visit.
Adding: “As we mentioned in our Exclusive News tweet, you can also pre-order in-store.”
Chances are, all PS5 stock online is gone, so your best bet is to try calling your local retailer.
And if you missed another chance to buy a PlayStation 5 this week, more opportunities are expected soon.
According to PS5 Stock UK on Twitter, Argos will receive a new shipment this week.
This could lead to PS5 stock going live on regional Argos sites on September 14, though this remains a report for now.
An earlier message from PS5 Stock UK on Twitter reads: “Exclusive news for PlayStation 5 (Argos) September.”
GAME is another major retailer that is expected to offer a new shipment of PS5 consoles in September.
This is expected to happen within a week or so, but delays are always possible.
Knowing when a PS5 replenishment is due can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles their shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and not being able to complete purchases when there is a lot of site traffic. Inventory trackers recommend using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer offering the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected around September 14.
AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK works better under tension, but still has a few kinks worth noting. Creating an account with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wish list before checking out. More stock is expected in September, but no hard data has been confirmed.
Demand for PS5 consoles will remain very high in 2021, with retailers unable to keep up with demand.
Next-gen stocks usually sell out within hours of release, leaving many still waiting to buy one.
So far, Sony has confirmed that 10 million units have been sold worldwide, reaching the milestone on July 18.
