Call of Duty Vanguard Beta
The Call of Duty Vanguard PlayStation beta takes place this weekend, but only on PlayStation.
Exclusive to PS5 and PlayStation 4, the first of two Call of Duty Vanguard beta tests will run from September 10-13.
The Vanguard beta has a release time of 6pm BST UK, so it won’t be long before the action goes live.
Unfortunately, this weekend’s Vanguard beta is only available to fans who pre-order the game.
To get a code for the Vanguard beta, you’ll need to pre-order the game online from PlayStation Store or in-store.
The PlayStation Store version is currently available for £69.99, while the retail edition can be purchased for £59.99 in select stores.
If you want to play the Vanguard beta on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, or Xbox One, you’ll have to wait until next weekend.
The second beta period is open to all players on all platforms, so check back next week for all the details.
Another thing worth noting is that this weekend’s PlayStation-only beta is now available for pre-loading.
While the file size isn’t as big as you might think, it’s still worth preloading the beta to make sure you get the most out of the beta period.
In terms of content, the Call of Duty Vanguard beta will spotlight the new Champion Hill tournament mode.
Champion Hill made his debut at the recent Alpha test. It is described as a multi-arena survival tournament, “where tactics and strategy are combined with fast-paced action, close-quarter gunplay”.
The Vanguard beta also includes classic game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed.
Elsewhere, fans can check out the brand new Patrol multiplayer mode, featuring moving targets across three different maps.
Speaking of maps, Call of Duty Vanguard’s multiplayer beta includes the locations of Hotel Royal, Gavutu, and Red Star.
Players can level up to level 30 during the beta and there is a special bonus for anyone who reaches level 20.
Reach level 20 during the multiplayer Vanguard beta and you’ll receive a bonus Weapon Blueprint for the full game in November.
Similarly, weapon XP will be limited to level 30 in the beta, while Operator XP and Clan XP will only be available when the game launches this year.
And don’t worry about your Battle Pass in Cold War and Warzone, as the progress made in the beta will count towards your Battle Pass rewards.
