This weekend’s Fortnite event isn’t expected to leak to the internet early, and that means gamers are relying on Epic Games to provide fresh hints about what’s going to happen next.

The good news is that the team behind the popular battle royale game has a track record of sharing minor leaks and teasers in the lead up to live events.

And it looks like Epic Games has dropped the first teaser about how big the upcoming Fortnite event could be.

A new video has been posted online about Operation Skyfire, including an unknown voice talking about the upcoming operation.

It reveals major doubts about Dr. Slone and what’s on the alien ship.

It also reveals that whatever is found at the end of the new Fortnite event could have huge implications for Chapter 2 Season 8.

A transcript reads: “And there’s something else. There might be something on that ship that even Slone doesn’t know about.

“I don’t want to send you into a panic spiral, whatever you think is the worst thing ever, this could be the way…”

This would make sense given that Operation Skyfire is expected to end the current Alien storyline and follow it up with something completely different.

Epic Games is expected to provide more clues in the coming days, so it’s worth keeping up with what’s happening through the official social media channels.

From what has been shared so far, Operation Skyfire will be a special interactive event that will not be playable after it ends.

With the mothership in sight at the Imagined Order’s secret base in Corny Complex, Slone has devised a plan to end the invasion once and for all.

Ending the alien occupation is expected to be a great visual experience and probably explains why we missed a major Fortnite season 7 event.

The other big news expected to be shared during the event is the launch date for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8, which is expected to kick off around September 13.

Here’s some of the important information Epic Games has shared regarding the big Fortnite event kicking off this weekend:

“Operation: Sky Fire — Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 7 Ending Event — takes place September 12 at 4 p.m. ET. Join an assault team and sneak aboard the mothership to deliver IO’s final message to the invading aliens.

“The Operation: Sky Fire event playlist will be available 30 minutes prior to the start for players to jump in and reserve their spot in the mission. Make sure to log in early and be on standby for the start time. You can participate in the event with a full lobby of 16 friends, so bring the whole team and more to help you on Slone’s secret mission.

“For content creators and players looking to relive the moments of Operation: Sky Fire, please note that replays for the event will not be available. Take the right steps to capture and archive your experience to share with everyone.”
