Call of Duty Vanguard beta tips and tricks…

Build your weapon to dominate every battle

When choosing gear for Multiplayer, players prepare for the Gunsmith in Create-a-Class.

An evolution of a system first introduced in Modern Warfare (2019), the Gunsmith will now feature up to 10 attachment slots on select weapons, providing thousands of additional options to aid in almost any combat scenario and playstyle.

Ammunition type plays a more important role than ever

Shotguns can now be equipped with a “Buck Slug”, a grenade filled with shotgun at close range and a longer range bullet.

This combination is just one way ammunition can change for weapons – expect other attachments that adjust a weapon’s caliber up or down to affect bullet penetration, rate of fire, and more.

Plenty of options for those who like close combat

Those who prefer to bring a knife into a firefight should know that Riot Shields return alongside two melee options: a standard blade at launch and a bayonet charge for weapons that can equip this underrun blade.

And to counter those hand-to-hand combat fiends, Akimbo returns for select weapons, making for a powerful but less accurate close-quarters option.

Destroy the environment to destroy your enemies

Once you’ve got a weapon, it’s time to rip through the map to defeat your enemies.

Tactical destruction was a driving force behind Sledgehammer’s innovations to this game’s engine, so expect to blast through specific weak walls, break down doors and windows, or destroy tiles, landscapes, structures and other objects to wash those pesky campers away.

Assemble, slide and blind fire your way to victory

When you find cover behind solid objects, you now have two options to fire back, aside from normal hip or target fire: the first is montage, which returns from previous games, although operators can additionally “slide” their mounted weapon. the vertical or horizontal surface to move.

The other is blindfire – sacrificing some accuracy, this maneuver provides better cover in situations where you’re about to suppress fire.

Choose your benefits wisely

Both Operator Perks and Weapon Perks – now known as Skills – return, with some of these improvements affecting movement and shooting techniques.

For example, the Lightweight Perk increases speed, including in Tactical Sprinting, while the Weapon Perk Gung-Ho, which is active when a weapon is ‘attached’, allows an Operator to fire this weapon while sprinting.

Then there are field upgrades – yes, Dead Silence returns and active time is increased by earning kills.
