Xbox One News: Play New Free Games Today (Image: MICROSOFT)

Xbox One is one of the most popular consoles available to buy, and while Sony’s PS4 and PS5 consoles remain more popular, tons of people still use Microsoft’s line of gaming machines. And if you have an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass subscription, you can play some new games this weekend at no extra cost.

Microsoft holds monthly events called Free Play Days, and these allow gamers to choose between three new titles to play. If you have enough time, you can download all three and play them on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X console.

The only downside is that you need one of the plans mentioned above to access it for free. If you do, you can fire up your console today and download these new games:

Madden NFL 22, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Blasphemous.

To find and download these games on the console, you need to click on the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and open the Gold member area to find the Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One.

A message from Microsoft also explains the restrictions and confirms that gamers can download and play any game, but only have a limited time.

“Get ready for another season on the gridiron, form a squad for explosive 5v5 PVP action, or test your skills in a punishing action performer.

“Madden NFL 22, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Blasphemous are all available to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members from Thursday, September 9 at 12:01 PM PDT through Sunday, September 12 at 11:59 PM PDT.”

Xbox owners in the UK have until September 13 around 8pm BST to play Madden NFL 22, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Blasphemous.

While it’s a shame you can’t play these games for free forever, Microsoft also offers discounts on all three.

This means that during the promotion you can choose to purchase the full versions of each of these titles and continue playing.

Current Xbox discounts are:

  • Madden NFL 22 – MVP Edition (99.99 SRP) with 25% off: $74.99
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Deluxe Edition ($39.99 SRP) with 85% off: $6.00
  • Blasphemous – Standard Edition ($24.99 SRP) with 60% off: $10.00

The only downside is that some of these games are already available to play if you own Xbox Game Pass.

But without any title duplication, this is still a great deal for anyone interested in something new.
