PlatinumGames is open to the idea of the Wii-U title Star Fox Zero to Nintendo Switch. Atsushi Inaba said this in a new interview with VGC.

Star Fox Zero was originally released for Nintendo Wii U in 2016 and was developed by PlatinumGames in collaboration with Nintendo under the supervision of Shigeru Miyamoto.

Today, Star Fox Zero is one of the few major Wii-U games that hasn’t been ported to Switch. Yes, goodbye to Xenoblade Chronicles X. In the interview, Atsushi Inaba said that people would “definitely” be interested if Nintendo showed an interest as well. Any changes are to be decided by Miyamoto-san.

“It’s not cool that people can’t play older games because they’re not available on a current platform. So of course we want to bring each of these older titles to new platforms,” says Inaba.

Star Fox Zero was once criticized for its complicated control scheme. That should definitely be revised for the switch porting. “Since it’s an IP from Nintendo, the ideas for it should come from Miyamoto himself. We respect what Miyamoto wants to do,” said Inaba.
