Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards
Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris continues to shake things up this week after Bungie made major changes to how rewards are earned.
As gamers who signed up last week know, the weekly challenges with three, five and seven wins have been replaced with a new challenge for winning rounds.
The only thing that hasn’t changed is that the Trials of Osiris will start at the same time on September 17th at 6pm BST.
The Crucible event will be live until September 21, when the weekly reset will shut down the Trials for a few days.
However, Bungie has also confirmed that a new seven win challenge will be available from Saint-14, featuring Adept Flawless loot.
Guardians will also note that reputation gain per match has been scaled to the number of round wins on a ticket and Trials passages now have account scope meaning buying the same ticket on a different character will not reset ticket wins.
For example, these are the rewards and loot packs that were available last week:
- Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module
- Reputation Rank 7: Improvement Prism
- Reputation Rank 10: Eye of Sol Legendary Sniper Rifle
- Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module
- Reputation Rank 16: Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon
- Spotless Reward: Shayura’s Wrath Adept SMG
And with Trials Reputation now unlocking Trials engrams and other rewards through Saint-14 during a given season, Bungie is making further changes this week.
This time, Bungie wants to tweak how matchmaking works when it comes to the final stages of the event.
The latest news from the Destiny 2 development team explains: “We are not satisfied with the matchmaking experience for players after seven wins. That area of matchmaking has a significantly higher percentage of 5-0 games than we’d like, so we’re enabling a ‘flawless matchmaking’ pool.
“However, we want to make sure there are enough clear players to maintain good matchmaking times – so we’re waiting until Friday afternoon to enable this, and we’ll be watching player reactions and matchmaking analysis throughout the weekend to make sure it’s there.” make sure it behaves properly.
“We’re also not happy with the experience of players having a bad streak of being repeatedly thrashed 5-0, so we’re offering some matchmaking help if someone encounters multiple blowout matches.
“This temporary assistant mechanic will clear up as soon as they start to win again, so don’t think anyone will make a mistake by filling up a few races and then having a weekend of smooth sailing.
“Finally, we’re enabling the quitter penalties we use for the Glory playlists – giving you a 30 minute timeout if you stop too many games. We’re going to keep an eye on this and have some tougher plans as players their fireteams continue to leave.”
Bungie has also confirmed that they have reduced the lap time to 90 seconds, with each round starting with fresh special ammunition.
Cross Play must be enabled to participate in Trials of Osiris, which also requires the purchase of the current annual expansion.
