Sonic creator Yuji Naka is working on another game after Balan Wonderworld

Balan Wonder World wasn’t the platformer hit it should have been. There’s no need to hide that. For Yuji Naka, who only joined Square Enix in 2018, the final phase of his career has been unsuccessful for the time being. He retired from Square Enix in April 2021.

Now Yuji Naka is working on a game again. As he announced on Twitter on the occasion of his 56th birthday, he is learning to program again. So back to the roots.

“I’m doing a simple smartphone game with Unity. It’s okay, because it was only developed by one person. But programming games is fun. I hope you can play it,” said Naka on Twitter.

After leaving Square Enix, Naka also considered retiring. But of course he can’t do without video games. Will we ever be able to play his new game?
