Pokemon Unite gamers won’t be able to play for hours today as servers are being removed for maintenance.

The bad news is that during this time, no one will be able to access the core features of the game, including online play.

The upside is that this is all being done to support the Pokemon Unite Mobile release date.

Scheduled to launch on September 22, Pokemon Unite will soon be playable on Android and iOS devices.

This will open the game to millions more players, making matchmaking a breeze.

It also makes it possible to continue your game on different platforms, eliminating the need to own a Nintendo Switch.

HOW LONG ARE POKEMON UNITE SERVERS DOWN?

The Pokemon Company has confirmed that Pokemon Unite maintenance will begin on Tuesday, September 21 at 2:00 PM PDT or 10:00 PM BST.

The Pokemon Unite servers are scheduled to be offline for eight hours, meaning the game won’t be available for play until September 22 at 8am BST.

A message from the Pokemon Company reads: “Attention, Trainers! Pokemon Unite will be under maintenance on September 21 from 2:00 PM to 12:00 PM PT.

“During this time, the game cannot be played while we make adjustments and prepare for the mobile launch. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Meanwhile, the Pokemon Company has confirmed that Pokemon Unite Mobile’s release date has been set for Wednesday, September 22.

The launch of Pokemon Unite for Android and iOS is expected to happen around the same time.

And based on planned maintenance, Pokemon Unite should be available to play sometime after 8pm BST on September 22nd.

Putting teams of Pokemon against each other is nothing new, but the gameplay in Pokemon Unite is very different from the battles that people have come to know.

Pokemon Unite takes place on Aeos Island, a mythical location on the unexplored frontier of the ocean.

On Aeos Island, players will find the Unite Battle Committee (UBC), which organizes a series of Unite Battle tournaments.

And in Unite Battles, players form teams of five and compete against each other to see who can score the most points before time runs out.

Bringing traditional PC gameplay to Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch isn’t without its challenges, but it looks like many fans are ready to try the new formula.

A message from the Pokemon Company added: “Pokémon UNITE was released on Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021 and trainers will soon get a new way to play with the release of the mobile version on September 22, 2021.

“Pre-registration has already started in the App Store and Google Play Store. If you have not pre-registered, there is an additional incentive to do so. When the pre-registration total reaches 2,500,000, participants will receive a Pikachu Unite license. And when the pre-registration number reaches 5,000,000, the participants will receive a special Holowear-Festival Style: Pikachu.”

More news about Pokemon Unite’s rollout on Android and iOS platforms can be shared in the coming hours.
