Developers Mihoyo may be facing some backlash from players at the moment regarding the game’s anniversary event, but that won’t slow down the anticipation surrounding the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.2 livestream.

This will be when the Genshin team reveals all their latest projects and content plans for the hit action RPG, and there is a lot of hype when it comes to the new characters that will be added to the game.

And what makes Genshin different from other games is the number of players who can access it.

Genshin is not only free to play – meaning you can download and install it without paying anything – but it’s also available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

This makes it one of the most accessible RPGs to play right now, although you’ll need plenty of space on your cell phone.

With that in mind, it’s easy to see why so many people are waiting to find out what the new Banner will be and what new features will be made available.

For now, we only know that the Genshin Impact 2.2 livestream will start on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

The good news is that the broadcast starts around 1pm BST, making it really easy to tune in and watch in the UK.

For gamers in North America, the same livestream event will be available to watch around 5am PDT, which isn’t as accommodating.

The Genshin livestream will be held on the game’s official Twitch channel and will be uploaded to the YouTube channel later.

This means you can skip getting up at the crack of dawn if you’re okay with sleeping a little longer.

Meanwhile, Mihoyo is also expected to share its latest codes that will provide additional XP and leveling abilities for those who choose to redeem them.

The development team’s full message regarding this week’s livestream event reads: “It’s Announcement Time! The special program for the new version of Genshin Impact will premiere on the official Twitch channel on 10/03/2021 at 08:00 (UTC-4)!”

This will be the first livestream for Genshin Impact in October and is expected to contain a lot of new information about the upcoming Banner for the game.

It will also confirm the Genshin Impact 2.2 launch date, which is expected to fall between October 10 and October 17.

Leaks were harder to find following a fight against Mihoyo, though it seems like we know a new character is coming to the game.

Thoma, the housekeeper from Mondstadt, is expected to be a pyro-polearm character that will appear during the 2.2 era.

Thoma can reportedly create barriers to protect his teammates and is expected to be explained further during the upcoming 2.2 livestream.
