Where is Xur in Destiny 2 this week?
Where is Xur in Destiny 2 today? That’s the question many Guardians will ask if they want to trade their Glimmer and Legendary Shards for something more deadly.
For those new to the game, the Agent of the Nine, Xur, returns each week to a specific area of one of Destiny’s worlds, with an assortment of exotic gear, legendary weapons, and an armor set.
These can be exchanged for a combination of Glimmer and Legendary Shards, but only for a short period of time.
Xur returns to the map today and will hang around until the next weekly reset, scheduled for October 5.
As in the past, Xur is expected to arrive around 6pm and will be one of the main focuses for today.
While the Iron Banner is in full swing, other major PvP activities that usually come into play along with Xur are resting.
This means you won’t be able to play the Trials of Osiris this weekend, leaving the trader the main draw.
While Trials rest, Bungie provided this rundown of how it performed last week, telling Guardians today:
“The solo win rate remained high at 27%. The solo eruption rate was 37% prior to turning on the pristine pool and then dropped to below 30%. These all correspond to week two.
“Non-competitive matches (5-0/5-1) were 55% on Friday/Saturday and dropped to 51% on Sunday/Monday – generally very consistent with week two.
“We’ve seen solid matchmaking times of under 50 seconds all weekend, apart from early matchmaking protection that caused a slight increase (to 75s) in North America on Sunday and Monday midnight.
“Overall, we had 667k players participating in Labs (33k less than week two), with 220k players going clear. We had played 100k fewer games in total, which was about the same average number of games per player.”
Last week, Xur sold: Seventh Seraph Carbine Primary Auto Rifle, Last Perdition Energy Pulse Rifle, Whispering Slab Primary Combat Bow, Timelines’ Vertex Energy Fusion Rifle, Main Ingredient Energy Fusion Rifle, Outrageous Fortune Heavy Grenade Launcher and the Crowd Pleaser Heavy Grenade Launch.
Xur also sold the Simulator Legendary Armor set for 50 Legendary Shards & 1000 Glimmer.
There were also plenty of Legendary weapons thrown into the mix, meaning there was a reason for everyone to pay a visit to Xur.
Bungie never gives advance information about what it’s selling, and it’s always a guess where it might be.
A few select random locations are used each week, with Nessus, EDZ, and The Tower being part of the usual rotation.
And for those who forgot, Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to upgrade equipment or trade it for other gear.
It should also be noted that Xur will drop items that are similar in power level to your character.
And another part of Xur that’s new in the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he’s now dropping Cipher Quests for free.
The Quest will reward you with an exotic number, and last week involved completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.
Each week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that are decoded as Exotics not already in your collection.
