Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Start Dates Confirmed
The Battlefield 2042 beta launch date is slated for this week, and gamers can already get ready for it on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Developers DICE are making it possible to preload BF Beta before it launches this week so you can jump right into the action.
The good news is that the Battlefield beta preload will begin on October 5 at 8am BST on all platforms.
The bad news is that not everyone can access the beta at the same time.
While the Battlefield open beta will be available to everyone, gamers who pre-ordered will get early access.
WHEN DOES THE BATTLEFIELD 2042 BTA START?
The Battlefield 2042 beta will start on Wednesday, October 6 for those who pre-ordered the game or have an EA Play membership.
The trial version of the game has a start time of 8am, which means you can preload now and be ready to launch soon after.
Meanwhile, the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta start time is slated to be October 8 at 8 a.m. and will run until October 9, 2021.
The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta is available to play on PC (via Origin, EA App, Steam and Epic) and console (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S).
The only downside for console players is that while PlayStation Plus is not required to participate in the open beta, Xbox Live Gold is for Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
EA has confirmed that during testing, gamers will experience classic Conquest gameplay, with a map selection currently consisting of Orbital – a map where enemy fire and chaotic weather can help or hinder your battle.
More about the overall experience of the new Battlefield games can be found below and it reads as follows: “The new Specialist system allows you to choose your role on the battlefield and form custom squads.
“Based on Battlefield’s four classes, Specialists have one unique specialty and trait, but the rest of the gear is fully customizable.
“By choosing and equipping your Specialist, you can build synergies within your squad and empower yourself to take on any combat situation. There will initially be ten Specialists available in Battlefield 2042.
“You can use a full range of advanced weapons, vehicles, jets, helis and all-new gear inspired by the near future of 2042. Summon the Ranger, a robotic dog built for battle, use the Syrette Pistol to fire teammates from afar. heal, use a grappling hook to reach new places, don a wingsuit, deploy a scout drone, and more.”
The full Battlefield 2042 experience is expected to be released simultaneously on all compatible platforms on November 19.
