Far Cry 6’s release time is almost upon us and it won’t be long before fans of the epic franchise explore the latest open world.
Set on the island of Yara, Far Cry 6 pits dictator Antón Castillo and his teenage son Diego against a resistance movement.
And Ubisoft also has big plans for the game’s season pass, with the Far Cry 6 expansion adding three DLC episodes to the game.
This includes playing the roles of Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min and Joseph Seed as you dig into their minds to discover their backstories, meet familiar faces and find out what it’s like to become the villain.
But for now, most gamers want to know exactly when they can start playing through the basic Far Cry 6 experience.
WHAT TIME IS FAR CRY 6 OUT?
The Far Cry 6 release date is set for Thursday, October 7, and the Far Cry 6 release time is slated for midnight local time on PS4, Xbox One, and next-gen consoles.
PC gamers will have to wait a little longer as the new Far Cry game launches at 5am on the Epic Games Store.
It’s also possible to preload the game on most platforms now, so you can jump right into Far Cry 6.
Ubisoft has also confirmed that Far Cry 6 will not be released on Valve’s Steam store in 2021 or beyond.
More on the story and setting can be found in the official Far Cry 6 description, which explains: “As Dani Rojas (playable as a female or male character), you help fuel the fires of the revolution through guerrilla warfare across Yara Island, from verdant jungles to the urban streets of the capital Esperanza.
Far Cry 6 release date and launch time news
“You use a powerful array of weapons and vehicles and build a network of allies to fight alongside you, including Fangs for Hire like Chorizo, the dangerously distracting sausage dog. As President Castillo prepares his son Diego, played by Anthony Gonzalez (“Coco”), to succeed him, you will do everything in your power to make sure his plans don’t come true.”
Ubisoft has also confirmed that players who purchase the game on Xbox One or PS4 will be able to upgrade their version to Xbox Series X or PS5 for free.
This will help future-proof the game and allow it to be played at higher settings after any next-gen consoles have been purchased and paid for.
Those who pre-ordered can also look forward to a number of bonuses, including access to the Libertad Pack, which includes the Libertad outfit for Chorizo, and the Discos Locos, a weaponized disc launcher.
