The release date of Metroid Dread has been set for Friday, October 8, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
The new game continues the story of Samus Aran as she fights against new alien threats on the planet ZDR
The surface has been overrun by vicious alien life forms and murderous robots called EMMI, and there will be plenty of platforming action for those who missed it.
And while there will be plenty of fresh doe’s to stock up on your battle suit, that doesn’t mean the Metroid Fusion story is over.
“Images from an unknown source indicate that the deadly X parasite – believed to have been eradicated – is still alive,” the official story description teases.
“The Galactic Federation is sending a special unit consisting of seven EMMI robots to the remote planet ZDR, which is believed to be the source of the transmission. Shortly after arriving at ZDR, the entire unit disappears.
“As the only one immune to the X parasite, intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran is sent to find out what happened. Shortly after landing, a mysterious enemy captures Samus deep beneath the surface of this dangerous world.
“Now Samus must hunt or be hunted as she makes her way through a labyrinth of enemies to reach the surface.”
WHAT TIME DOES METROID DREAD OUT DISABLE?

But based on previous games, we expect Metroid Dread to be playable around midnight on Friday.
This is likely in most time zones, although in the United States it could start a little earlier – around 9 p.m. PDT.
