Sony has unveiled its latest television series as a great choice to use with PS5 consoles.
In a somewhat unsurprising move, the tech giant is marketing its latest Bravia XR devices as the perfect way to enjoy your PlayStation 5.
This comes down to two different functions that this specialized television has; Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.
This stuff can be important to gamers looking to get the most out of their console, but it comes with a price.
Getting one of these new TVs will cost thousands, far more than Sony’s base console.
Here’s how Sony describes the two exclusive features that help get the most out of a PlayStation 5:
Auto HDR Tone Assignment: With Auto HDR Tone Mapping, the HDR settings are optimized immediately during the initial setup of the PS5.
The PS5 automatically recognizes individual BRAVIA XR TV models and selects the best HDR setting for the TV accordingly. With the optimized HDR tone mapping level according to customers’ BRAVIA display specifications, they see crucial details and colors even in high contrast scenes. For example, users get detailed objects on the track in Gran Turismo™ 75.6 so they know exactly how to make their next move.
Auto Genre Picture Mode: BRAVIA XR TVs can detect whether users are playing a game or watching movies and shows.
With Auto Genre Picture Mode, the TV automatically switches to Game Mode while gaming, minimizing input lag to make the action more responsive, or to Standard Mode when watching movies from a streaming service or from an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc on the PS5 , which shifts the focus to image processing for a more expressive image.
The Bravia XR and PS5 console
But for many, buying the best TV for a PS5 would probably be easier than finding a PlayStation console to buy.
From what’s been shared so far, GAME will be offering a new shipment of PS5 consoles in early October.
And based on the latest information, this latest PS5 stock drop from GAME will take place between October 12 and October 15.
There are also other reports that Very and John Lewis will be offering more PS5 stock this month, but it’s unclear when these events will take place.
The news was shared by PS5 Stock UK – a reliable stock tracker account on Twitter – known for providing the best guides on what happens next.
The message posted on Twitter by PS5 Stock UK reads: “GAME has updated the PS5 bundles page with a 21/10 release date indicating a potential online restock around October 12. There is currently no further information available.
“For those who don’t know, the release date written by GAME is the last day they expect to deliver standard delivery orders. We predict that the restocking should occur on 12/10 with priority orders delivered by 15/10. As soon as official information is released, we will let you know as soon as possible.”
As always, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt before being confirmed by the retailer.
