Edge of Eternity won’t be released for consoles until next year

Since June 8, the “Indie-JRPG” Edge of eternity available in Early Access on Steam after two years. The console releases took and need a little more time. The date is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series (also in Game Pass) postponed to next year. It should now be in the first quarter of 2022.

The reason given is the pandemic, which slowed down development. In addition, there would be feedback on the PC version, which is now being used for improvements. Last but not least, new features are also planned.

In 2021 and 2022, players can expect regular free updates with new features such as a Nekaroo farm and breeding facility, new game content, additional quests and skins, mod kit improvements and new gameplay.

Edge of Eternity was developed by Midgar Studio, a small team of 13 developers based in the south of France. They all say they are big fans of old-school JRPGs. Yasunori Mitsuda has significantly more JRPG experience than the developers. The composer (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy XV, Xenoblade Chronicles) contributes the soundtrack to Edge of Eternity.

In Edge of Eternity, players follow the story of Daryon and Selene on their mission to find a cure for the terrible disease called “The Decomposition”, while experiencing engaging turn-based combat and an epic story.
