The Minecraft 1.18 update will be available in 2021, according to the latest news from Mojang, and more information looks set to be shared soon.

While we don’t expect Caves and Cliffs Part 2 to be playable in October, the stage is set for the announcement later this month.

This is expected to happen during Minecraft Live, which is scheduled for October 16.

Mojang has already confirmed that the event will be filmed live and broadcast over the internet all over the world and packed with juicy Minecraft news.

There will also be contributions from content creators and a pre-show and community vote to influence the game.

We don’t know exactly how much gamers can change the game or if it has anything to do with Minecraft 1.18.

A message from the Minecraft Live team doesn’t promise Caves and Cliffs news, but it would be very disappointing if the company skipped it during the annual event.

“The guest list includes new and familiar faces from Mojang Studios, our amazing community, and some surprising performances,” the Mojang message reads.

“On the menu you’ll find in-depth interviews, exciting reveals, a nail-biting voice and puns galore! Instead of gifts, please send positive vibes so that the power doesn’t go out.

“You can watch Minecraft Live from anywhere with an internet connection. Use your phone, tablet, PC or game console to view it on the Minecraft website or Facebook, YouTube and Twitch accounts.

“Minecraft Live will be held virtually on October 16, 2021, starting at 12 noon ET.”

Delays are always possible, so there could be good or bad news depending on whether you hope to play Cave and Cliffs Part 2 before December 31st.

Caves and Cliffs has been pushed back several times due to its combination of new content and game-changing mechanics.

The patch was eventually split in two, with Mojang confirming earlier this year: “Due to the magnitude of this update and the dramatic changes it will bring to the Overworld as a whole, there are also significant technical challenges we need to overcome before certain parts of the update is ready to be sent.

“Take the completely redesigned world generation, which affects all caves and mountains in Minecraft. With this feature, we completely reshape the Overworld, including the building height.

“We have to consider not only every effect this might have on the world, but also how it will affect performance. Basically, more things in the game slow it down too, and we want to avoid that.”

Minecraft 1.18 is due out in 2021, but doesn’t have a full release date for fans to keep up with.

What we’ve learned so far is that Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 will be ready by the holidays.

More news is expected to be shared later this month and will likely provide the final details on when Minecraft 1.18 will be available for download in 2021 or beyond.
