Xbox Live down reports are pouring in today, with users reporting issues with Xbox party chat.

Independent Failure Monitor Down Detector has registered a spike in Xbox Live down reports.

According to Down Detector UK, there has been a spike of about 1,800 Xbox Live down notifications recorded – while downdetector.com has seen a similar spike.

According to Down Detector stats, server connection issues are the biggest problems Xbox Live users face today.

Other issues that users have reported are login issues and general gameplay issues.

When the reported Xbox Live issues hit, users took to the social networking site Twitter to report the issues they were facing.

Someone tweeted: “@XboxSupport Xbox party chat not working. Says ‘Connect’ Every time I join a friends party, vice versa. Please fix it.”

While another posted: “@Xbox why is my party chat on Xbox not working right now?”

One added: “Anyone else chatting his Xbox party?”

And another wrote: “@XboxSupport Xbox party chat seems to be having ATM issues, at least in the UK. Is this being looked into? Either randomly thrown from parties with no notification and unable to join a party, just stay hang when connecting…”

In the wake of these reports coming into official Xbox support, Twitter confirmed that there were reported issues with party chat and was investigating them.

The @XboxSupport Twitter posted: “We are aware that some users may experience problems using party chat on Xbox Live. For more information, follow here or visit http://xbox.com/status”.
