Pokemon Go Halloween 2021 is starting very soon and Niantic has promised a new way to earn and complete storylines and rewards.

This year’s Pokemon Go Halloween Mischief event is split into two parts, with the first starting Friday, October 15, 2021 across all platforms.

Halloween Mischief Part 1: Creepy Companions starts at 10 a.m. local time and runs for an entire week, ending October 22 on Android and iOS devices.

The first part of this year’s Pokémon GO Halloween is themed around creepy Psychic and Poison-type Pokemon; however, a mix of other Pocket Monsters will also be available, including Galarian Slowking and Shiny Spinarak.

The following Pokémon will also appear more frequently in the wild:

  • Halloween Mischief Pikachu
  • Zubat
  • Drowzee
  • Gastly
  • Spinarak
  • misdreavus
  • shuppet
  • Halloween Mischief Piplup
  • Stunky
  • woobat
  • gothita
  • Yamask

And here are some of the other rewards and research tasks Trainers will want to try and complete during this week’s Halloween event:

Season of Doom, Special Investigation Story Unlocked

The next part of the Season of Mischief Special Research story, Misunderstood Mischief, will be unlocked.

Completing this season’s Special Investigation Story will grant you access to a special event that may have something to do with Hoopa at the end of the season!

Strange Pokémon are appearing in Pokémon GO, including Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region, such as Galarian Slowking! Could this be a result of Hoopa’s rings? Let’s tackle this mystery together and learn more about Hoopa!

Galarian Slow King – Galarian Slowpoke can now evolve into Galarian Slowking! To evolve it, set up a Galarian Slowpoke as your buddy and catch 30 Psychic-type Pokémon.

Lavender City Music – A remix of the iconic Lavender Town music will be played every night during the event. Turn up your in-game sound and enjoy the spooky vibes.

A special investigative story—What’s under the mask?-will be available:

Ghost-type Pokémon appear more often than usual, and Professor Willow has instructed you to learn more about them. Yamask, in particular, has started to appear in the wild, sparking his interest in learning more about Ghost-type Pokémon related to masks. What can we learn about these Pokémon – and what can we learn about ourselves in the process?

Timed Investigation will be available with tasks focused on participating in the Halloween Cup in the GO Battle League.

  • Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to participate.
  • Only Poison, Bug, Ghost, Dark, and Fairy-type Pokémon are allowed.
