The question of where Xur is will be answered by Bungie on PlayStation, Xbox and PC later today, Friday, October 22.

The good news is that the elusive Destiny 2 merchant will arrive at one of its designated spots, offering a new range of exotic items.

These range from weapons to armor, and there will also be Legendary sets to check out.

While the exotic weapons are an important factor for Guardians in deciding what to buy, gamers will also want to see what kind of stat rolls are associated with each item.

And if something tasty has been added to Xur’s wares this week, Guardians can exchange Glimmer and Legendary Shards for anything that catches their eye.

Xur is expected to return to the Destiny 2 map at 6pm BST, at the same time that the Trials of Osiris will be back in rotation.

Both activities will continue until the weekly reset, which will take place on Tuesday, October 26.

The Trials of Osiris could get some attention this week as Bungie will be running an experimental build.

This can make it harder to unlock the best weapons, with the development team confirming:

“For this round we are looking at Freelance. For those who don’t know, Freelance is a matchmaking hub especially for solo players; no pre-made fireteams are allowed to enter. As players continue to earn Trials reputation and even go for a Flawless run, this is a separate node that will be located directly above Trials of Osiris in the Director.

“Remember, if you go in alone, watch your back. There’s no telling if your freelance teammates will pay attention to you. Find a buddy, move together and maybe your team will come out on top.

“This Freelance Labs weekend doubles Trials’ reputation. If you’re finishing up your Trials-specific armor collection or looking to get a good roll on one of the weapons Trials has to offer, this is a great weekend to jam some rep.

Back to Xur, and Bungie never gives advance information about what he’s selling, and it’s always a guess where he might be.

A few select random locations are used each week, with Nessus, EDZ, and The Tower being part of the usual rotation.

And for those who forgot, Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to upgrade equipment or trade it for other gear.

It should also be noted that Xur will drop items that are similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that’s new in the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he’s now dropping Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic number, and last week involved completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Each week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that are decoded as Exotics not already in your collection.

Xur sold these exotic items last week – Hard Light for 29 Legendary Shards, Galanor Shards for 23 Legendary Shards, Sunbracers for 23 Legendary Shards, and Crest of Alpha Lupi for 23 Legendary Shards.
