GTA 6 release date: new rumor for avid Grand Theft Auto fans

Recent articles

With so many big next-gen projects planned for the coming years, there are still many waiting for the unveiling of the biggest of them all for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

And like other months, there has been a new wave of GTA 6 rumors suggesting what Rockstar Games is up to next. As usual, many of these have been plucked from online forums and almost all come from unverifiable sources. The latest wave of reports suggests the first next-generation Grand Theft Auto reveal will be held in 2021 and is just weeks away.

And while we should warn everyone to take the news with a grain of salt, there is hope that something like this will happen. The radio silence surrounding GTA 6’s release date after years of waiting has left many gamers desperate to hear more, and chances are there are a few pranksters ready to share something to get some attention.

But for those who want to believe it, there are several vague rumors circulating that the first GTA 6 teaser will be shared at the end of November. If this were to happen, it wouldn’t go against how Rockstar Games has launched games in the past.

Both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 came out two years after the announcement, meaning a reveal next month would still fit in with an eventual GTA 6 release date slated for 2023.

It certainly doesn’t go against the story that Rockstar Games will launch its next Grand Theft Auto project way into the future, which is when enough next-gen console owners will be around and supply chain problems should have eased. .

So why wouldn’t Rockstar Games choose to reveal more GTA 6 in November?

The only thing holding up this rumor a bit is the timing it would have for one of the studio’s other major development projects that have been delayed until 2022.

While there’s a remastered trilogy coming out with GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas that wouldn’t hurt sales, there’s another one that’s much more important to Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

This would be GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X, which will now launch in 2022 and give Take-Two the chance to continue to capitalize on the massive popularity of GTA Online.

A recent post explaining the Rockstar Games port launch delay reveals:

“Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online are now arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March 2022, with a range of technical and graphical improvements across the experience, including performance improvements for select vehicles in GTA Online, and much more. more.

“While we’re extremely excited to bring GTAV to the latest generation of consoles, the game needs a few extra months to polish and refine. We look forward to sharing more details about these expanded and enhanced releases soon, including the new standalone version of GTA Online also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March.”

So, after not talking about GTA 6 for so long, why would you suddenly start sharing information months before releasing a title that will be crucial to your recurring revenue?

Rockstar Games could choose to do something like that and add a 2023 release date tagline, confirming that there was no reason to skip GTA 5 on next-gen consoles.

But even with this information in place, there’s no way the news that GTA 6 hasn’t come out for years wouldn’t affect Take-Two’s stock price.

So it will be interesting to see what happens in November regarding the Grand Theft Auto project.
