Trials of Osiris rewards are back on October 29 at 6pm BST, complete with new rules for scoring the best stuff.

During Season 15, Reputation Rank played a vital role in the loot you can acquire during the Trials.

And while most of that system remains in place, Bungie continues to tweak how other parts of the game’s activity work.

Solo queues were present last weekend, but won’t be a part of how Destiny 2 works this week, and the development team reveals today:

“We liked the overall result and vibe of the Freelance Queue, and both playlists seemed to have a viable number of players. We’re looking at the occasional Freelance run for the rest of Season 15, but still trying to determine what feels right.

“In the long run, we are exploring some single playlist solutions: preferred matching of full fireteams against other full fireteams, duo + solo against another duo + solo. We don’t have a specific release target for this yet, but it won’t be before Season 16.”

What changes this week is how the Trials of Osiris Flawless loot is allocated and collected.

The Flawless Pool used in recent weeks will be replaced with a new system that focuses on your record to aid matchmaking.

Whenever you match in Trials, you’re not only trying to match people with the same number of card wins, but you’re also trying to match people who have roughly the same number of overall wins for the weekend. If you can’t find anyone to match against, it will eventually expand to find a less similar match.

The downside is that there will be longer matchmaking times, with Bungie adding: “For the PvP gods who go Flawless 10x per weekend, they will eventually match other players who have (for example) 70+ wins on their cards regardless how they got it.

“For the average team that gets a lucky Flawless on their first card on Friday or Saturday, well, they will be going up against other players with about seven wins no matter how they got it. We hope this will give us many of the benefits of the Flawless pool system (some fairer matches) without the major drawbacks. In particular, there shouldn’t be a major inflection point where everything runs smoothly prior to a win, and then everything is too challenging after that. ”

The card selection and Osiris rewards are not known until the event starts, and it may take a while to figure out the full loot list.

It will be Guardians who will have to do the hard work, as Bungie rarely gives advance directions.

The Trials now offers a seven win challenge, which will be available from Saint-14, and offers the Adept Flawless loot.

Reputation win per match has been scaled based on the number of round wins on a ticket, and trial passes are now within account range.
