Developers Mihoyo is bringing Hu Tao back into the mix with the latest 2.2 Genshin Impact Banner release.

The awesome action-RPG continues to add new content and characters, with this week’s big update focusing mainly on one area.

The Genshin Impact event scheduled for this week will go live for the next 48 hours and will include the rerun of Genshin Hu Tao Banner alongside a new four-star character.

While not quite exciting as a five-star, Thoma still seems to be a recruit that everyone hopes to add to their roster.

The Guardian from afar is so named because he can defeat opponents with a series of spear thrusts, which are all part of his regular attack.

Thoma can also drop forward as part of his charged attack and can also jump forward with a flame-filled flying kick.

A brief description of the new character adds: “Thoma, who accompanied the Traveler in the Inazuma storyline, will join as a new four-star playable character.

Known as the “fixer” in Inazuma, Thoma is also a reliable teammate in combat, with strong defense and buffs. Thoma swings a pole and holds a Pyro Vision.

“His Blazing Blessing elemental ability can deal AoE Pyro damage, apply Pyro to himself, and summon a defending Blazing Barrier. When the Blazing Barrier is active, the amount of Damage absorption needed can stack when another Blazing Barrier is acquired, also renewing its duration.

“With his Elemental Burst “Crimson Ooyoroi”, Thoma can help his teammates deal extra Pyro damage to enemies. He even has a special talent that gives successful fishing attempts in Inazuma a 20% chance of scoring a double catch.”

WHEN DOES THE GENSHIN IMPACT BANNER START?

Developers Mihoyo have confirmed that the Genshin Impact Hu Tao Banner rerun date has been set for Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

PS4, PC and mobile gamers should be able to access the event simultaneously, in addition to the next-gen PlayStation 5 console.

Thoma, the four-star Pyro, will also make its debut this week as part of new content slated for update 2.2.

Both characters are part of the same Banner event, meaning greater pull opportunities in the coming weeks.

The release time of the Genshin Impact Hu Tao Banner is scheduled for November 2nd at 5pm BST in the UK and 3pm PDT in North America.

A post from Mihoyo adds, “During this event wish, the event-exclusive 5-star character “Fragrance in Thaw” Hu Tao (Pyro) is getting a massive drop-rate boost!

“During this event wish, the 4-star characters “Protector From Afar” Thoma (Pyro), “Kätzlein Cocktail” Diona (Cryo) and “Mujina Ninja” Sayu (Anemo) will get a huge drop-rate boost!

“After the wish of this event ends, the 4-star character “Protector From Afar” Thoma (Pyro) will be available in the default wish “Wanderlust Invocation” in version 2.3.

“Of the above characters, the event-exclusive character is not available in the default wish ‘Wanderlust Invocation’.

As mentioned above, this will be a repeat for Hu Tao, who made his debut in March and proved popular with gamers.

And chances are there’s a mix of old and new players ready to take out Hu Tao and take advantage of his single-target damage.
