Early patch notes have confirmed a wave of new content is arriving today with the launch of Apex Legends Season 11 – Escape.

With Ash becoming the new playable character, fans are eager to jump in and start playing.

Developers Respawn hasn’t shared a full plan on when the new update will hit PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

However, based on past launches, gamers expect the Apex Legends update time to be set on November 2 between 6pm BST and 7pm BST.

Respawn has released patches much earlier in the past, but the current pattern indicates a late release for Season 11.

Further patches could be released this week to make way for further changes; however, these will primarily be technical hotfixes for issues that arise.

Ash will be one of the big draws today, with the new Apex Legends character being plucked straight from Titanfall 2.

And these will be the skills that scientist, formerly known as Dr. Ashleigh Reid, to the battlefield will bring:

Passive – Marked for Death: When an enemy dies, Ash can see the location of their Deathbox on the map so she can identify where enemies are likely to go; once she reaches a deathbox, she can put her data knives on it to find out where the attackers are at that moment.

Tactical – Arc Tether: Inspired by her old Ronin Titan, Ash throws a spinning snare that briefly damages and ties the first enemy that comes too close. If the Arc Tether hits a surface, such as the ground or a door, it remains alive for a few seconds as a “trap”.

Ultimate – Phase Override: Ash uses her sword to rip open a one-way portal to a target location. Once the portal is open, Ash immediately begins to travel through it, although allies (and enemies) have some time to follow her.

Apex Legends: Escape will also feature a new Battle Pass with limited skins and rewards that Legends can unlock by completing and leveling up challenges, along with a new leaderboard season.

The Storm Point map will also be a huge draw for those looking for something to test in the world of Apex Legends.

Storm Point is the largest Apex level ever launched and is approximately 15% larger than World’s Edge, the previous record holder.

Knowing the different locations and features of the new map will be huge for scoring success and you can find all the latest landmark news below:

Almost all relocation balloons have disappeared. In their place are the Gravity Cannons and they are an excellent method of avoiding the ring. Step into one and it will launch you in a predetermined direction. As you travel through the air, you have pitch control and can land on the sides of the Gravity Cannon receiving points to avoid traps and other hazards. You also have full control over your weapons, grenades, tactical abilities and ultimates when traveling through the air.

Prowlers are aggressive creatures that hunt in packs and you can find them in their Prowler Dens over Storm Point. If they see you, they will definitely warn you that you are getting too close and not be too friendly with uninvited guests. By keeping your distance, the opportunity to participate remains in your hands. Beware though, if you choose to participate, more will emerge from the Prowler Dens to defend their territory.

Let’s take a look at some of the bigger drop locations: the Barometer, the heart of Storm Point. A rotating platform with a honey pot of loot is overlooked by a research tower which gives a height advantage but is difficult to defend against attackers.

Built into the mountain, the Command Center is a massive loot-rich complex that allows players to dive into the heart from the dropship. It’s also an excellent method of reaching the top of the mountain while being protected by a network of the longest ziplines in the Apex Games to date.

The antenna is a drop location shared by a network of walkways placed above a huge communications dish. Make your way down these catwalks or slide to the bottom of the antenna to zip your way to the center.

Suspended over a dense forest, Checkpoint allows you to break free from an intense battle in new ways. If you’re overwhelmed, jump off the platform in the forest below to change the engagement.
